Esperanza Children's Home

   Minimize

Esperanza Para Los Niños is a small private non-profit children’s home located 15 miles north of Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. Esperanza currently provides shelter, food, clothes, spiritual nurturing and also ensures that these precious children get an education. This is all accomplished by a group of five loving and caring individuals. The five individuals consist of two married couples and one single woman. As a team they are responsible for preparing and serving three meals every day for approximately 35-40 children depending on the current situation. Two dormitories provide beds for up to 48 children.  The staff duties also include laundry, transportation to and from schools, bible teaching and maintenance of buildings and vehicles. The incredible staff made up of two married couples with their own children and a single woman do all of this, plus more, on a very small monthly stipend/salary.

Family of God Christian Fellowship financially sponsors this amazing Children’s home with $500 per month in food and gas vouchers.  However, with the recent expansion and addition of the second dormitory along with fewer Americans visiting Rocky Point due to economic restraints, the need is great to make sure that these children have what they need.

Esperanza is not an orphanage but a shelter.  The reasons for these children being in this home are numerous and various; they range from their parent’s financial inability to care for them to emotional and physical abuse.  The ages of the children range from small babies to teenagers.  The goal is always to reunite the children with their families and time frames and requirements of the parents are given to accomplish such.

The home encourages caring people to visit and give of their time in assisting in projects ranging from construction to playing games with the children. The children and the staff are a delight.
